NEW YEARS EVED

I had an amazing New Years Eve. At least I think I did. From what I remember it was amazing. I was hoping my trusty camera would remind me of my mis-adventures but alas when I picked up the film there was only 6shots on it! Heart-broken. I have loose recollections of taking shots of complete strangers all night and at various different locations and parties. I expected the pictures to represent someone else's new year. Oh well, gone are the moments...here's the best out of the survivors...oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR xx

Eastbourne Centre/Beachy Head

Beachy Head is a truly fucked up place. Off-course there's the eerie sense of suicide surrounding the cliff faces but the countryside centre next-door to the Beach Head pub does little to restore normality. Inside there's a typical gift shop selling key rings, postcards etc but I'm not sure where the Golliwog's fit in? Behind the gift-shop is a bizarre lay-out of models recreating things from past and present. The weirdest thing was a life-sized Shepard with a hologram for a face talking in a faux Cornish accent. It looked more like a demonic cross dresser and has pretty much given me nightmares ever since I saw it...I couldn't resist buying that little golliwog...that wrong?

TREASURE-LESS ISLAND

On my recent jaunt to the south coast I came across this abandoned theme park. There's clearly no room in Eastbourne for this Treasure Island.

Key to the 7 Lewes Bonfire Societies

LEWES BONFIRE

Just spent my Saturday night in the historic town of Lewes, just north of Brighton. It's hard to explain the atmosphere that takes hold of the town after dark on the 5th November. I'd call it a pagan war party but many wouldn't. I'll let wikipedia tell you the facts about Lewes Bonfire, but you can see it through the eyes of my shaky camera right here right now....

KAAAABOOOM! Had such an amazing night. We didn't see half of the action, it's just too manic. We found ourselves being part of the Lewes Borough procession, helping to pull a giant paper mache Gull up a huge hill where a large crowd were bombarding the pope with bangers and fireworks. We joined the crowd in chorus shouting "burn the pope, burn the pope!".....

It's safe to say you'll know where to find me on the 5th November from now on.
