LATITUDEITIS

Phheeeww festival season is killing me! I'm surprised we've not been arrested by the fun police. The captain did get laryngitis and I broke me arm at Secret Garden Party but hell we're still alive and ready for more action.
Here's a few snaps from when we played 6gigs in 3 days at Latitude a few weekends ago. Despite the pesky, persistent piddlin rain we had an amazing time. Although it was an incredibly safe festival. We re-named it 'Latte-tude'. I wouldn't dream of paying to go there but we all ran amuck and enjoyed the hell out of it. There's a few videos of our performance's kicking around here.

A Racing Heart Is The Sweetest Pain

Its been all quiet on the Shanty gig front for a few weeks now. We made a unanimous decision to take a wee brake to concentrate on rehearsing some new material in preparation for our recording session that's been booked for the end of Feb. Apparently Bohemian Rhapsody and Do They Know Its Christmas were recorded at the same studio. And Take That's most recent album. What the hells going on I have no idea?!

No night was complete without a quick stop off at Ali's burger joint. He fell asleep opposite me while I tucked into my Lamb Burger.

Sinking the Boat Show

oh what a night we had. the Boat Show asked our City Shanty Band to make an appearance at their weird party. Naturally, being the corporate whores that we is, we agreed. Look say what you like but it'll pay for 500 7" vinyl's. Besides singing "Drunken Banker" to hundreds of lecherous drunken bankers was actually one of the proudest moments of my life. aaaarrrrgghhh!

NO FUN!

Triple thumbs up to big Jerry Price of the beast man goat experience for this truly awesome flyer for our friends new night at the George Tavern. Our City Shanty Band will be there to get the place ready and rowdy in our hyped up hooligan fashion. Adeel Akhtar from the new film by Chris Morris, 4 Lions will be comparing the night along with ultra loud, motor mouth, cockney treasure Zoe Grisedale.

WE THE ACAPELLA CITY SHANTY BAND

We've started up a new band - City Shanty Band - providing a fine excuse to get lots of friends together and drink gallons of rum. Then, loud and joyfully, we sing songs about drinking rum.

You can become a 'fan' here, or at least have a good laugh at the spectacular photo's first mate Land Leave Losing took of some of us...

my favourite line still remains...."arse of lard and face like pig" leading onto....."my uncles pick-up trucks not that big" - pats on the back Captain Benseye!

Killing bankers with anchors is in there somewhere as well is it not?

Probably not.
